ABOUT TOPOPHILIA WINE COMPANY

“Topophilia” (From Greek topos “place” and -philia, “love of”) is a strong sense of place, which often becomes mixed with the sense of cultural identity among certain people and their love of such a place.”

Locally born Winemaker and Grape-grower, Jess Wade, is based in the Sonoma Valley where he farms several premium vineyards from which he produces world class Pinot Noirs. The use of the highest quality grapes and allowing them to really showcase their unique flavors is something he strives for in every bottle of Topophilia.

Jess found his passion for winemaking during his first harvest in 2007 at Rancho Sysquoc Winery in Santa Barbara County and has never looked back. The close correlation that winemaking has to cooking made perfect sense to him as his father owns and operates a fresh pasta company and his mother is an extremely talented professional chef. Their influence in always using the best possible ingredients has been an enormous influence on Jess’s belief in growing and sourcing the best possible grapes to make the best quality wines.

Jess has made wine in three Countries with esteemed Winemakers and Viticulturists over the past 13 years and has now come home to focus on crafting world-class wines that reflect his love for the land and the community surrounding it.
